Service project this Saturday, March 16, 10am-2pm

Adam Basse’s Eagle Scout project will be painting the hallways and stairs and staining the floors that lead into our scout room (470 Maple Street).  It’s a wonderful way to brighten the space and give back to our host – Christ Church!

The work will begin at 10 AM and go until 2 PM CDT.  There will be painting, taping and sanding. Please wear old clothes and shoes just in case any paint misses its desired target.

Lunch and drinks will be provided for all workers.  Any help is much appreciated, even if you only come for a hour.  This work counts toward the 15 hours of community service that each scout must perform.

Adam sends his thanks to all the scouts and he looks forward to seeing each of you this Saturday.

Update on Nuclear Science merit badge at Fermilab, Thursday, March 14

Eleven of our scouts have signed up for next week’s trip to Fermilab, for a two-hour program on the Nuclear Science merit badge. We have two parents signed up to drive, and the 11 scouts will fill those two vehicles. Because we’ve reached our transportation capacity, the program no longer appears on the online signup form at http://tinyurl.com/troop18signup .

An email was sent on Sunday afternoon to the 11 scouts who have signed up for the badge.

If we have more parents who are able to drive, the program at Fermi could accommodate up to 20 scouts. We need a five-hour commitment that day, leaving Winnetka at 11:30am and returning around 4:30pm. Please send an email to [email protected] if you can drive.

Thanks!
